Project Overview
Dominion Energy will replace a 115-kilovolt (kV) and 230-kV wooden structure line along a four-mile section of the line with self-supporting galvanized steel poles. We will also install a new 230-kV line along a 6.3-mile section also with self-supporting galvanized steel poles. The new lines will be designed to meet all modern electric codes as well as provide additional reliability to our customers. Most of the rebuilt lines will be constructed in existing rights of way by contracted crews.

Timeline
- The engineering design and environmental permitting began in 2023 and will continue through mid-2025.
- The transmission line construction is scheduled to begin in late 2025 or early 2026.
- Work is scheduled to be completed by 2027.
- In addition to weekdays and normal work hours, weekend work hours may be necessary to meet critical project schedules.
