Buena Vista-Balcony Falls

Project Overview

Buena Vista

The existing structures and components along this 10-mile line corridor have been in service for nearly 10 decades and need to be replaced. We propose replacing the existing galvanized-steel lattice structures primarily with brown, weathering-steel H-frame structures.

Transmission Corridor Conditions

Existing
  • Project area is 10 miles long
  • Right of way is primarily 100 feet wide with 120-foot and 140-foot sections
  • Primarily galvanized steel lattice structures with some galvanized steel monopole structures
Proposed
  • Utilize existing right of way corridor
  • Install brown, weathering-steel H-frames throughout most of the corridor. Weathering steel monopole and 3-pole structures will be used in some locations.
