Bermuda Hundred – Darbytown 230kV Rebuild

The Bermuda Hundred–Chickahominy Project will rebuild 34 miles of transmission lines in Charles City, Chesterfield, and Henrico counties. The current lines are old and need to be replaced in the same right-of-way.

These transmission line upgrades will also:

  • Meet central Virginia’s growing electric demand.
  • Comply with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards.
  • Support continued reliability and improve grid efficiency. 

The Bermuda Hundred – Chickahominy

  • Project proposes to rebuild 34 miles of transmission line across Charles City, Chesterfield and Henrico Counties.

    These transmission line upgrades will:
    • Meet central Virginia’s growing energy demand.
    • Support continued reliability and improve grid efficiency.
    • Comply with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards.

Bermuda Hundred – Chickahominy 

• Rebuild transmission lines between the proposed Bermuda Hundred substation and existing Chickahominy substation – 13. 5 miles.

Chickahominy - Elko 

• Rebuild the existing transmission lines Chickahominy and Elko substations – 7 miles.

Elko -Turner- Darbytown 

• Rebuild the existing transmission lines between the Elko and Darbytown substations – 13. 6 miles
• Upgrade existing infrastructure at both Darbytown and Turner substations
