BECO to Firehouse
This project involves adding two (2) additional 230 kV lines that will connect a new substation, Firehouse, to the existing BECO Substation.
Project Details
This project will add two new 230 kV power lines. Most of the work will use an existing right of way.
The new lines will connect a new Firehouse Substation, located off Russell Branch Parkway between Gloucester Parkway and Kincora Drive, to the existing BECO Substation near Gloucester Parkway and Pacific Boulevard in Sterling.
The project is about one mile long, with nearly 0.9 miles inside the current right of way.
Public outreach will begin in early 2026. The project team plans to file an application with the State Corporation Commission in spring 2026.
The new lines are expected to be in service by early 2029.
